How the map works & sources
Home values are Census ACS B25077 estimates for owner-occupied homes over 2020–2024, with a 90% margin of error when available. They are not current sale prices, listing prices or appraisals. Census tracts are statistical areas and do not necessarily match named neighborhoods. State and county medians come directly from Census; they are not averages of smaller areas.
In Your priorities, budget fit is min(1, your ceiling ÷ the area median). Hospital access decreases from 1 to 0 over 15 straight-line miles; school proximity over 5 miles. Importance is 3 for High, 1 for Low, 0 for Off. The weighted average is shown from 0 to 100. Unknown or top-coded medians are unscored. Scores use the published Census reference point, stay fixed when panning, and describe your selected criteria—not a universal ranking of neighborhoods. Crime, appreciation, taxes, walkability and routing are not included yet.
Public-school locations are NCES 2024–2025 directory records, without a school-quality rating, current operational check or attendance guarantee. Hospital pins show open general acute-care campuses reporting emergency services in the HCAI release; licensed beds are not staffed beds or live availability. Distances are straight-line estimates, not driving times.
